Henry Huisjes Muziekproducties

Henry J. Huisjes (1963) is a pianist, Hammond organist, choir director, arranger and composer from the Netherlands.
He started playing at an early age. He then studied at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede where he was taught by Peter Rijs (Hammond organ), Hans van de Werf (Piano), Jan Wilbers (harmony and counterpoint) and Theo Willemze (music theory and arranging).

His musical style is known for the combination of classical and light music (jazz, gospel, pop), which makes his style authentic and recognizable.

Henry is conductor of two choirs. Con Amore from Hoogeveen and Campanella from Holten. He is also pianist at several choirs and ensembles like the men’s choir from Hollandscheveld.

Henry is also active as an organizer and participant in various musical projects. The Missa & More project with exclusively his own compositions was a great success in February 2024. From May 2024 Henry is connected as a board member of the Sing and More foundation in which he organizes projects for project choirs and orchestras together with the well-known Hoogeveen choral conductor Roelof Bosma. Henry also works regularly with conductor and organist Frank Kaman from Hardenberg and the well-known Euphonium player Jorijn van Hese from Emmen. Known for many multitrack recordings on Spotify.

Concert tours with choirs have already taken him to many countries in Europe. His compositions and arrangements are used worldwide and performed by many musicians, choirs and orchestras.

As a composer, Henry Huisjes composes works for choir, orchestra, brass ensemble and piano. The compositions include influences from composers such as John Rutter, Bob Chillcott, John Williams and Hans Zimmer. The orchestral work “Blue Canyon” (2019) for symphony orchestra received a high score at an international film music competition of the Film Scoring Academy Europe in 2023.

In the period 2014-2019, the ‘Missa Brevis’ for choir and orchestra was created. The work in a version for choir, string quartet, brass quintet, flute and piano had its premiere in February 2024.
